Carbomer 940 is a high-molecular-weight cross-linked polyacrylic acid polymer, which is one of the most classic gelling thickeners for water-based cosmetics. Solubility: Water-swellable powder, insoluble in oil phase; must disperse and swell in water phase, effective thickening only after alkali neutralization.
